How to verify an authorized cannabis retailer

Check the exact street address in the AGCO’s current cannabis map, distinguish authorized locations from applications in progress or cancelled records, and record the check date.

Use the AGCO’s current cannabis information and map to check an Ontario retail location. The map includes authorized stores, applications in progress and cancelled records. These statuses are not interchangeable. A third-party listing, business sign or matching name is not proof that a particular address is currently authorized.

Check the exact location

  1. Write down the full street address, including a unit number where available.
  2. Open the AGCO’s cannabis retail stores map.
  3. Find the location and compare its address—not only the business name—with the address you are checking.
  4. Read the status shown in the official record. Do not treat an application in progress or a cancelled record as authorization.
  5. Record the date of your check. If there is no clear match, ask the regulator rather than drawing a legal conclusion.

Why third-party records need a date

Store authorization and business circumstances can change. A directory should show the public source and check date, and should not claim that a location remains open unless that separate fact has also been checked. This build lists 64 distinct Ottawa addresses matched to the AGCO’s “Authorized to Open” layer on 2026-10-25; this does not confirm present business operation.

Limits

A map search is an information check, not legal advice or a guarantee about a business. Consult the AGCO for a current determination. If an entry on this site appears incorrect, send the page and a public supporting source; an editor will review it manually.
