How we publish

A record should show its work.

Our sourcing, verification, update, correction and disclosure practices are designed to make limits visible—not to imply certainty we do not have.

Sources and claims

We prefer primary sources for legal, regulatory, health and public-service information. The AGCO is our starting point for Ontario retail authorization; Ontario statutes and regulations are used for provincial legal text; Health Canada and CBSA are used for the federal subject matter they publish.

When a source has not been reviewed or local details remain unresolved, the page says so. We do not convert a general summary into legal advice, infer facts from memory, or present an unverified number as current. The source review date is distinct from the page’s publication or update date.

Directory verification

Directory records are factual and alphabetically ordered. Each published address must match the AGCO map’s “Authorized to Open” layer; the public source and check date are shown with that record. The current Ottawa data was checked on 2026-10-25. We omit hours and accessibility because each requires its own current, location-specific public evidence; those facts are not inferred from an authorization record.

Applications in progress and cancelled records are excluded. A missing listing is not evidence of unauthorized operation, and authorization status does not establish that a business is currently operating. Corrections are reviewed manually before any public change.

Corrections and review dates

Reports are read manually. A correction submission does not update a page by itself; an editor checks the claim and supporting source before any change. We do not publish reporter identities or submission content. If a correction cannot be confirmed, the page remains unchanged or receives a visible uncertainty note.

Commercial relationships and ownership

Ottawa Weed Shops is published by bluebird cannabis and edited by Ottawa SEO. The project is represented as independent and does not currently publish paid placements, affiliate links or retailer rankings. If ownership or a commercial relationship changes, the disclosure must be updated before the affected content is published.

Privacy requests

Privacy questions and deletion requests can be sent to info@ottawaseo.com. See the privacy notice for form-data handling, retention and deletion practices.

Source review at launch

References were checked against primary sources on 2026-10-25; this is a source-review date, not an article publication date. Ottawa’s current smoking-and-vaping by-law and the Ontario Poison Centre’s contact details were directly reviewed. The local by-law summary is limited to the named municipal rule.
